    Stretching Steel Wheels

    Hey Fellas (and dames),

Would anyone know how to get some stocky steel wheels banded?

For those of you who don't know what I mean:

Stretching the width of a steel or alloy wheel by physical engineering.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Would love to see my Jetta dumped on some ****ty wheels!

Not a lot of people band wheels here, most rebarrel them. Hit up a wheel specialist in your area, show them the steel wheels you have and see what options you have for getting them widened. I had Mk4 steelies rebarreled using ROH barrels which were the correct size for the Mk4 steel centres. I ended up going 8" all around; they could also do 10" as well but at the time I wasn't game enough.

For what its worth Eastern Wheel Works and Ajax Wheels can get 8" and 10" barrels, cut out steelie centers and then weld them in at a custom offset. About ~$160 each.

Problem is for staggered sets the 8" and 10" are from different places and the diameter of one looks bigger. For 9" they have to get a 10" and cut 1" off at an extra $100 each.

I see you're in brisbane I had some widened by Billeau Engineering in Labrador. hit them up..... there's also a mob called Wheel Revolution in Slacks Creek though their customer service and turn around times are slack.....

pic fro reference... I had some standard 15" steelies that they separated and welded the centers into new 8" barrels at staggered offsets

Holy ****. I am willing to pay good money for that set of wheels. NAME YOUR PRICE.

I'd rather spend my money on a set of remotec a or bbs wheels. Your wheels look amazing. Orange is my favourite colour!
