I feel like this is a stupid question

But in wanting to do this on my mk2. They are stock 14" and i want them to be 15/8. The only thing stopping me is what offset to run. I have got no clue on what is gonna work

I think you'd need to find some 15 inch 4x100 steelies and then have them cut the centeres out of those and put into 8 inch wide barrels. I've never looked into mk2 fitment, but have a look around on the interenet (vwvortex is a good place to start) for what offset other people are running, im sure there is heaps of info out there

You can also put in the dimensions/offset of your current wheels and measure how far out you want to new wheels to sit, then put all that into an offset calculator (such as this Online Wheel & Tyre Fitment calculator. Offset, Tyre stretch and Rolling Radius calculator) which will calculate what offset you would need.

pic fro reference... I had some standard 15" steelies that they separated and welded the centers into new 8" barrels at staggered offsets

Looking awesome! I've been looking all this info up on the UK sites, wondering if we can get it done here too..

    Any places in Sydney?

Let us know how you go surfpig, and how much it's going to cost, with/without supplying the original set of steelies etc. Thanks!
