    steelies centre bore modification

    fella's.
I have a set of mazda 15" steelies that i wanna use on the mk1. the PCD is correct but the cnetre bore is 54, not 57.1. if it was an alloy wheel, i'd get the centre bore machined out no probs, but with the steelies there's only tha pressed plate there.

anyone done this or seen it done? i cant really see any problem with it, just wanting to know if anyone has experience with it.

Dom has had it done. I've seen those wheels in person. And i've seen it done other times too.

Just machine it out. There's not a huge amount of load on the centrebore really.. Especially if you have steelies.

I couldn't bring myself to do it with a die grinder unless i was at the racetrack and had to do it there with no other way available...

    But hey go nuts.

Surely there should be a machine shop near your work with a big enough lathe to do it? Either that or they could do them on a mill with a boring head.. Either way will do a great job. Failing that if they have a CNC mill they could circular pocket them in no time. Should only cost your 100 bucks or so for the 4 of them if they're willing to have a go..
