    Unhappy Quick Tyre question

Filled rear tyre up with air a few weeks ago and its gone close to flat again.... I've taken the tyre off and had a look at the tyre and there, are a few very small holes here and there but nothing noticeable, the tread and all that are still fine (only done 10ooo ks) where air can be getting through... Can't hear any air going either...

Would I be in need of a new rear tyre or not or is there something that I'm over looking or can be done?? (taking it to a tyre shop tomorrow to get it looked at, just don't want them to screw me over!)

Check the valve. Soapy water is good for spotting leaks.

Thought it was the valve too but no noticeable air bubbles....

How much roughly would it be to get the valve replaced?

Don't have anything large enough to put the whole wheel in

The valve lives inside the valve stem, you can remove it yourself with a $5 tool from any autobarn, repco bike store etc.

The valve stem has to be replaced from inside the rim so the tyre needs to be at least partially demounted.

A packet of two valve stems, two valves and two caps cost me $6 from supercheap the other day.

You're probably up for $20 or so for a puncture repair and rebalance at a tyre shop. (Unless you're running something exotic like nitrogen filled 22" rims)

If the sidewall is damaged they may not be able to fix it but you'd probably spot that sort of damage.
