the width of the rims makes a difference as well.
If you know the specs of your stock rims you can use this calculator to compare

Hi,
I am looking at getting a new set of rims for my mk4 golf gti. Currently the car has stock gti alloy rims on it but i have been searching ebay and have found a set of audi tt rims 5x100 with 32mm offset.
Basically my question is, will these rims fit my car as i don't know a heap about cars etc
Any help would be appreciated

To the best of my knowledge, 16" TT rims are a direct bolt on to the MKIV.
I have the stock GTI, well what i think are stock gti rims.

Hmm i am not looking at these http://www.ecstuning.com/Volkswagen-...321/ES1884321/ would i have any problem with these rims/tyres or should i totally scrap the idea and just get some rims from tempe tyres lol
im not sure of the specs of those rims, but id say the TTs would fit.
The TTs on my car come out closer to the arches so id say they would be the same on your GTI, there a nice looking rim on MK4s
The Mk1 TT does share the same 5x100 bolt pattern as the Mk4, every OEM Mk1 TT wheel should be a direct bolt on to the Mk4 platform. The TT used slightly lower offsets (et's in the mid 30's), but it shouldn't cause any issues on the Mk4.
