MK4 R32 - Oz Ultraleggera size

Hey guys,

I may have the oppurtunity soon to pick up some well priced OZ racing Ultraleggera rims, basically i'm wanting some advice on sizing as i'm a little unsure about it all.

So the stock R32 wheels are 18x8, with an offset of 45 i think? Stud pattern 5x100, etc. With these stock wheels theres a fair bit of a gap between the wheel and the guard, i was going to space the wheels i have now but figured since i may have the option of going for a lighter, aftermarket wheel i might as well do it right.

I've seen a lot of people go 8.5 front and 9.5 rear, but i think that may poke a little too much for me as i still want it daily drivable and not too silly...as well as that, i dont think OZ do half inches in their wheels? As far as i've seen they only make 18x8 or 18x9.

So i was thinking about maybe going 18x8 with 15mm spacers on the front, then the rear maybe 18x9. Would my offset of 45 remain the same? I'm just not sure at those sizes how much poke i'll get/if any and if i do then obviously i'll need to put some smaller rubber on.

Any help would be great.

Nice choice in wheel mate, always looks pretty banging.

Firstly, the .:R will look better on 19s (unless you are lowering by a fair amount).
Secondly I have read varying reports but am still unsure, different rolling diameters F&R can produce negatvie effects with haldex. Have a search on R32OC.

Knowing the standard wheels specs are 18x7.5 ET43 (pretty sure, haven't had mine off to look yet?!), plug 18x8 ET45 into a "wheel offset calculator". Use a ruler to approximate how far out the wheel will move. In this case not too far. This is where the addition of a spacer (20mm) will increase your offset and give a final ET25. Measure that figure from your wheel face and that's where it will sit.
An N/A .:R probably doesn't need 9" wide wheels, but I'd go those all round in this situation.

Then make sure you lower it to make sure it looks together, not half done

Schoona, thanks mate, I'll look on r32oc, the reason I've asked straight away on here is because my net at my new house isn't connected for another week or so, so I'm stuck using my iPhone for now .

I did consider 19s, I just wasnt too sure as I know changing wheel diameters can mess with speedo/haldex; but my car is lowered on kw's and has a bit of room between the arch and the tire, but I was considering getting new springs made for the rear to drop it a tad more...
Yeah, ive just never really seen many people go the 9s on the front, it's always 8.5, so I'm guessing there's a good reason why?...And I know I don't need the big rubber, its purely for aesthetics, I look at the gap between the wheel and outside of the arch every morning and despise it lol. To he honest I'll probably just stretch 225s onto them.

Off the AMG Australia website, 19x8 + 35 @ $670 each mate. Could be good to ask them whats what though, i'm sure there are other fitments.
