Mk3 rear brake problem
I put second hand Mk3 rear disk brakes on my Mk1. I got them from the local wreckers. Perfect bolt on upgrade. However the rear left one was a bit 'stiff'. After some driving up and down the street and around the neighborhood the brakes seemed to be working fine.
However when I just push the car and have it roll I can hear a sort of grinding sound coming from the rear left calipers and pads, it definitely sounds like the pads are still rubbing on the disk, and the the caliper is not retracting as far as it should. It rolls very easy and doesn't seem to be grinding too bad. None of the other calipers are making the same noise.
Is it a big safety issue if the pads are grinding up against the disk abit? I know it will probably make the pads wear out more quickly etc.
Any tips to fix this issue?
Im hesitant to go and get them reconditioned straight away since it would cost me $130 for one (I'd get both recon'd so it would be $260).
