VW: it aint just a car, its a way of life
There are few things more satisfying in life than finding a solution to a problem and implementing it

i know no one is going to like them but i like them and im sure some1else will too . hopefully.this is my first set of wheels that i bought and its not the last for the golf.
put widened stockies on it and spend money on go fast parts![]()
76 MkI 3 door - daily drive/project - 1.8 5speed
76 MkI 3 door swallowtail - 16v track car
76 MkI 3 door "long term" project
See how they look on the car I guess? projects go through many stages, so here's stage one. . .
With all the mods you have made the last thing you want is some big daft wheels, regardless of what they look like.
'OLD MAN MODE ON'
The MK1 was designed and built in the time before 15s were even commonplace. I have owned and driven many MK1s in my 15 years of vw ownership and none have ever been as nice to drive as the bog standard MK1 GTI I bought that came with factory 13s on it. Even though VW went to 14s on the Campaign, they never quite handled the same.
Fitting big wheels also takes more power to get rolling and really badly affects the dynamics of the car.
'OLD MAN MODE OFF'
If you have money to spend on your car, there are plenty of areas that you could spend it on and get more out of it.

yeah it is heaps slower in the acceleration, but ive got the mk2 steelies if i fell the need for a spirited run.![]()
