    Maximum width rim for semi-slick

Would anyone know if there are any issues going to the maximum rim width recommended for a semi-slick tyre?

Currently, I am running 195/55R15 Advan A048R's on 6" width rims and I am considering getting a set of 7" width rims which is the maximum width recommended by Yokohama for this tyre. Once these are worn/hard, I will be buying tyres in the 205/50R15 sizing.

if its the maximum suggested by yokohama it would be fine.
they said it would be... wouldnt say it was ok if it wasnt.

I run 4 different pairs of tyres on there maximum wheels for dailys (215/40 on a 18x8.5 and 225/40 on a 18x9) never had a problem.

looking at the figures you put up id imagine those semi slicks are fairly ridged/stiff. my old 195/45 yokohama sdrives would go over a 17x7.5 legally, but i ran them on a 7

You will be fine with no issues. The 205 size you mention for will work with a 7". Have used 195; 205 & 225 R spec on 7's with no problems

Thanks guys. I knew it wasn't an issue with normal tyres but just wanted to check that the semi-slick's stiffer sidewalls wouldn't react badly with the wider rim (I actually suspect that it will make the tyre more responsive and maybe lower the slip angle a poofteenth )
