Lowered springs in Melb. for an 07 TDI Jetta.

    Hi all,

Looking at lowering the Jetta and was wondering:

    a) what springs (only springs or coilovers too?) to get; and
    b) where to get them.

Anyone from SE Melbourne care to share and recent experiences?

Im leaning towards a kit such as http://www.ecstuning.com/Volkswagen-...n_Kits/ES5770/ but shipping is alot!

    Cheers!

Hey mate, your question is fairly broad, and it'd be easier to give advice if you told us a few things you'd like to gain from fitting these springs.

There are plently of manufacturers out there, some cheap, some expensive, some good, some crap as I'm sure you know. Your budget will play a big part in your spring choice, as well as the look you're going for.

Do you want to lower your car by 15mm or 60mm? Are you doing it for looks, or just an improvement over stock handling? Keep in mind if you plan on lowering say 35mm or more it may be wise to upgrade your shocks at the same time, to ones suited to that ride height (stock shocks will wear out much quicker when riding at a height they're not spec'd for).

Give us a bit to work with and I'm sure you'll get answers

    Cheers, Don.

    Cheers mate.

At the moment i have 18" charleston's and my car basically has a smililar ride height to this:

Im just looking to make the car less of a 4wd. Ive meaured and a 20mm - 25mm drop would be great (if possible). I dont really want the ride to be to stiff or the handling to be compromised.
