I doubt many do... and i doubt they ever get checked. my 225/35/19s are only 88 also
Gday all,
I am getting some VMR 19x8.5s for my MKV R32.
Width is legal as it's within 1 extra inch for VIC.
However, the load rating required for MKV R32s is 92.
I need tyres in the 225/35 19 for closest fitment. Unfortunately, the highest load rating tyres I can find are 88.
Even if I pushed it to 235/35 19 with possible rubbing, the highest load rating tyres I can find are 91.
How do people in VIC install tyres for 19s in VIC legally?
Cheers, Michael.

Ah man............looks like I can't get my VMRs.................
I could go and risk 91 with 235s but still will be technically illegal.
There are some Chinese tyres rated at 92 but really not worth the wheel upgrade only to put crappy tyres on..................
is the 92 for all sized wheels? Or just the ones you have currently on the car?
Do r32 come with different wheel options from factory?
the placard does state 17 but at an even worse rating at 94.
Someone with a passat contacted vw aus to find out if there was a 19in option and they replied yes at a rating of 91. He then used the info with his insurer to get it recognised.
However, the passat on the dot website does state 19s but not for the r32.
Not looking good. Just sucks because there is only a total 60kg difference between ratings of 91 and 92.
