    Interstate shipping costs; wheels?

I wasn't 100% sure where to post this but I suppose it's relevant here...

Melbourne to Brisbane: 16" Wheels with tyres... any ideas on how much this will cost. Recommended frieght options? The online quotes are coming up with some insaneo prices I'm not willing to pay.

Has someone done this?... I can pick them up from a depo to get costs down.

I posted 4 wheels, no tyres, from Melb to Adelaide for $44. separately packed in boxes. they arrived in less than 24hours!!!

smartsend was the site, completely booked online. and they were happy to pick up from the seller and deliver it to me directly...

If you can do it through a business at all, it's dirt cheap

I've been quoted $24 a wheel w/tyre from brissy to syd, just for a guide...i don't like that sort of price lol

I was quoted, wait......wait....wait, $471!! I'm pretty sure I could fly down, spend the night in Melbourne, pay overweight baggage and fly back for not much difference.

That was just one particular place though.
yher i had the same trouble, either insane prices or they werent interested as i didnt have an ABN account

ebned up using fastwat couriers i think - they charged me around $140 for 4 18" wheels with tyres from sydney to adelaide and that price includes insurance and them picking them up from they guy i bought them off and dropping them to my work in the outer suburbs

i did my homework, and found that fastway were the cheapest and easiest to deal with if you cant send them through the work account or something...

    x x x 2

SmartSend is the cheapest and very good services. I was abit uncertain cos they only do business online, no phone number.

recommend you take out insurance, would only be a few $.

otherwise if yr goods are damaged or lost, you have no claim against the courier
