Heres a guide to fitting coilovers. Same for all coilovers for MKIV. I did mine myself in a few hours.
im wondering how difficult it is to install coilover on a MKIV golf. looking at various web pages it seems like it might be a bit of a task.
The rears look as though they should be quite easy. Just reading about the front and needs specialised tools and having to drop the subframe or driveshaft to get thing in/out.
Does anyone have any tips.

Did my cupra on the weekend, no real dramas, just make sure that you have a 7mm allan key to hold the front strut shaft while you undo the the top nut in the engine bay which is 21mm I used a spark plug socket for the nut.
Red 99 Seat Ibiza Cupra Sport, coilovers, K&N (Gone but not forgotten)
Blue 05 Golf 2.0 TDI DSG Comfortline, leather, sunroof.
2012 BMW X3 MSport 2.0D
Ok, i think i will give this a go myself then, and my hard earned cash can then be spent on other things.
i was thinking of usuing a spark plug socket as well. Seening it works i'll run with it.
As long as i dont have problems with clearance on the drivers side. it shouldnt be too bad. rear ones will be simple.
