How much can the Golf MkVI Handle

I have found a SWEET set of wheels for super cheap and was wondering if they would be able to fit.

The specs are
19x8.5, ET 62.

I have used the wheel offset calculator and it says it will have 24mm less inner clearance. Is that too littleclearance? Will it totally stuff up the inside of my wheel wells if I get them?

19x8.5 is for looks obviously. The offset is very very conservative (lose inner clearance and the fce of the wheel will move toward the body of the car)

I would get spacers from adaptec speedware, which will push the face out to the arch, and maintain the clearance inside for coilovers.

8.5 ET45 looks pretty good

I dont think its gonna fit mate. Theres a guy on here selling 19x9 et52 wheels and has clearance problems on a mk6. So going by your specs your wheels would sit 4mm further in than his.

You can ofcourse run some spacers my guess is that you'll need 10mm at least. What wheels were they btw?

They Audi Q7 option wheels. The local dealer has a set of 4 brand new for $1500. Pic as below... crappy quality due to the phone camera but you get the picture. The outside ring is a plastic scratch guard thingy. I actually think it finishes off the rim quite nicely.

I have 18 x 8 rims with 50mm offset on a mk6, which means 12.5 mm less clearance. Tyre dealer wouldn't fit 235s as they were concerned with a lack of clearance, but other members thought it wasn't a problem. the rims seemed close to the spring base of the front strut springs when the car was raised.- as peedman said you will need spacers.

You are going to need adaptors anyway as the Q7 runs a 5x130 bolt pattern from memory.
So they will probably reduce the offset 10-20mm i would say.

Bugger. I remember having a look at the back of the rims and I swear it said 5 x 112. Oh well I suppose time will tell. I can always drop by the dealer to find out more specifics or can simply call them up.

adaptec speedware will make the adapters for you. pretty sure they are around 450USD. have a look at their site.

Use an offset claculator (google) to find out the reduction in offset that you want. Tell them your specs, and then fit wheels.

They are darn hot wheels and should look pretty hot against the CS. There are many ways to get the tyres you want on the rim.

we have 235/35 on our 19x8.5 ET45, toyo proxes 4. 235 may just be too big for the 8" rim.
