bear in mind a licensed mechanic would charge around $250-$400 just to take those suspensions apart and put them back, + wheel alignment >$60; you'd better off do it right first time.

if your TDI does not come with the sport pack suspension, it's even worse to just replace the springs...

got eibach sportlines on there way, $300, mechanic mate $150 cash to fit. = 450

coilovers 1100 shipped + 150 to fit = 1350

thats $900 i dont have for a car which i take to work and back everyday.

im planning a mk2 -3 track/ rally car build next year ill save the coilover dollars for that :O

Nothing wrong with Eibach springs, I had them on my Polo 9N3 for a year and a half. the handling was good but it didn't drop the car too much However I recently got a set of FK AK street coilovers from Perormance 3000 in the UK landed for $430.00. These definatley droped the car to an awesome hieght.

I'm betting the FKs also improved the ride/handling due to the damper matching (even though these are pretty low end coilovers)

if/ when i kill me some dampers ill look into these cheapie coilovers. a diesel is definately not worthy of $1000 dollar coilovers.

150 to fit springs? Seems dear man. All you need is a socket set and a set of spring compressors really. Any mechanic will usually chuck struts in allround for $200 (which means removing springs anyways).

well pedder ssaid 350 and bowers said 550 to fit them.
the front struts have all kinds of **** bolted to them, the rear are easy.
