ive seen this argument before, but im starting it again.

without coilovers, or bags. no i do not want coilovers or bags.

how low can you go springwise, without shocks. im a tightass and dont mind a bumpy ride.

im thinking 50mm front, 60-70cm rear. ( UPDATE: 60-70cm is ridiculous, i oughta beat myself ) would look pretty though.

opinions?

what exactly are you asking here? If you can run shocks without springs?

What are you reasons for not wanting coilovers? Even if you do manage the drop youre talking about on stock shocks, they wont last long before you ruin them..

to avoid ruining shocks should i stick to 50mm?, ive seen many guys running them on stock shocks with no issues?

you'd be better with coilovers on that sort of drop surely, especially if your not changing shocks?
... and my 2 cents, drop it even all round or lower at the front. but thats just me.

something about reverse rake, it looks bagged i guess. i think ill go 50mm front and rear. its tried and proven to work for cheap $$$

From a registration point of view, you must have a minimum clearance between the bump stop and where it strikes the suspension, and then there is a minimum ground clearance. If memory serves me right, it is 50 mm each. The pits at Roseberry had a 50 x 50 angle around the opening of the inspection pit, and to be passed, the vehicle had to clear the angle. This is at the manufacturer's rated kerb weight.

the tdi is at tiguan height at the moment. pics of a few of the guys on here with 50mm still looks safe. can still fit a finger between the wheel and guard.

As benough & I said in the diesel thread, it will ride and handle like crap, especially as the dampers wear and they will wear much faster than normal due to being worked harder by the higher spring rate

I'm not sure I went down 50mm with my V3's.

Buy what springs will do the ride height but just be prepared for the consequences

its a 211k car that as far as i know has never had its dampers replaced.
when they do give up, ill get koni's or bilsteins
