    HELP with centre bore machining

I can obtain some quite nice Honda alloys, 15 inch. However am aware the centre bore is too small to fit the MK1.

Can I have the centre bore machined out to fit , without compromising the wheel strength / structure?

They have 195 x 60 x 15 tyres on, should be OK, slightly worried about going to 15" with a 60 profile tyre, because the car sits low..

    Thanks Guys.

    Should be ok.

the difference between the honda centre bore and VW centre bore is only 1.1 IIRC. 56mm - 57.1 mm, which means only .055mm off each size. Should be perfectly fine, otherwise shops wouldn't offer this service.

as for the tyre size, I'd suggest going a lower profile, both to keep rolling diameter more similar, and for clearance purposes. depending on how low you are (pretty low from memory) you'll probably rub with that size profile.

    EDIT:

this should help with the rolling diameters etc
