I think you have the wrong interpretation. The GTI already has lower stiffer springs. Therefore the drop will be less on a GTI than from the higher standard car. More simply instead of an bigger drop it would be a smaller drop.
G'day
I want to lower the GTi and do not know a lot about suspension mods if I buy a set of H&R 25/40 lowering springs the indicated figures are from standard Polo? so the GTi would be lowered an extra 10mm front and 25 back as the GTi is already 15mm lower than standard, would this be correct.

2010 Jetta 125 tdi dsg for the misses - Impressed
2006 Polo GTI - Enhanced by some of Gav's magic - Absolutely loving it
I think he interpreted it right, height drop is for a standard car. If you want a specific drop you may need to look at coilovers.
MK4 GTI: Custom Code Stage 2, K03S, 42DD exhaust, Bilsteins, whiteline F&R, 312mm brakes
MK6 GTI: MY13, DSG , very stock
Ducati 749
depends if that was a standard polo or a gti...
do h&r really sell springs that have a bigger drop in the back vs the front![]()
I am going for looks not performance the 25/40 should suit as it is mainly the rear that needs to be lowered, it doesn't look bad over the front wheels, what disadvantages to handling or performance if just rear 40's installed spring tension? I intend putting both sets in last bit is just a question![]()
