If you were a serious track day guy then there a lot of better units available. I know what you are saying, but one persons bad experience shouldn't label a brand "crap".
I think you are right, BC are good for daily driving. For track tein and other good ones are needed. You cannot expect $1300 coilovers to do the job of a 3grand coilovers, right?

You could get Vogtland lower springs with their shocks (made for lower springs) you could get for $800 free shipping from Germany, heard they are good too. H&R must be really good for the price they charging then?

I told you not to ask, did I not............. (just kidding )

Unfortunate circumstance as to where I live. That plus, once I make my mind up I like to get things done....I find if I procrastinate over something too long, I talk myself out of it. lol
I'm not far from the Gold Coast, in the northern area of NSW, and yeah, I could only find two H & R stockists on the Coast, first guy had the 3 - 4 month wait, second guy (upmarket shop servicing Porsche etc..) could get them in a week.
    Guess where I went.
The thing with him was they did cost more @ 490 + 490 labour + 95 for wheel alignment.

Springs cost you a grand!! I had H&R springs in my old Golf R and they were about $320 delivered direct from Germany. I installed them myself so there were no further costs except for a wheel alignment.

I was quoted around $1,400 for the Bilstein struts or around $1,000 for the Koni's. The Koni's were already overkill for what i wanted so i just went with those, and got new strut mounts and bump stops etc so that everything was new.
Yeah Lucas, not something I'm proud of, but once I make up my mind as stated above.... lol
I would love a set of Koni's but even at a grand, that total is gonna get up there... I would've been better off with getting coilovers to begin with.....Oh well.

Could still happen too, not ruling coilovers out just yet....could be some cheap H & R's going soon.....
    Cheers guys.

    Haha, well...mucho happier now Has.
Finally did what I should've done from the getgo....installed some KW V2's, supplied and fitted on the Gold Coast.
Ride is firmer than stock, but not a gut rattler...much better for cornering, I was amazed by the difference they made.
I have it set up (the Shop recommendation) approx 15mm lower than the H&R's, so the tyres just tuck the guards.
I'll get some pics soon and add them to the pics section.
