Golf R (Mk6) DCC Shocks cooked - Where/what for replacement

    Hi Guys,

So my mk6 Golf R's shocks are pretty well dead. I was quoted over $850 a corner for OEM replacement (Not including fitting) Then $635 for VWR Springs.

Is there somewhere cheaper i can get them? Overseas possibly?

Or maybe there's an aftermarket option? I'd like to keep the DCC but i don't know that i'm willing to go for Coilovers.

At the moment i'm considering replacing them with VWR Shocks and Springs and just losing the DCC.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks

You can get rid of them completely and replace them with either coilovers or a standard spring and shock combination like the Koni Yellow Sports i have (Bilstein also offer an upgraded shock).

Some coilovers have the ability to keep the DCC functionality, but these are quite pricey.

If you decide to get rid of the DCC, i believe you will need to use software like VCDS to tell the car that the DCC is no longer installed, otherwise it may detect something isn't right and illuminate an error light on your dash.

Here are some options to look at: https://www.bks-tuning.com/volkswage....html?limit=36

I think they're leaking and it also feels like I'm driving with solid metal bars instead of shocks.

I was thinking of replacing them with a VWR cup-kit style thing, but i really do want to keep the DCC, i just wanted to know if theres a better way.

Bilstein do a setup for the MK7 DCC but not the MK6. The KWV3s are $$$ and probably a little stiff

People warned me about this :/

    Hey tuttsx,
Did you end up finding some DCC replacements?
