    Hi there Golfman,

Re the KW's. Please check again. For repairs, No we dont send to Germany, we do this in Melbourne if needed. But there is a massive internal parts list so depending on what has to be done we may need bits from Germany. But hey I am sure not all brands can escape that.
You can go to an Australian Dealer if needed for local help. Or place of purchase for their help. You choose.

    Cheers
    Erik

Its like saying, don't buy a Skoda, they cost less, you get what you pay for, therefore they are a terrible quality car. You can't really say Skoda has had a reputable brand in the past can you now? So therefore is a VW with the same running gear far superior just because you paid more for it? Silly way of thinking really isnt it?

I rocked around on hot tunings which are THE budget coilover for over 40,000km's (wound all the way down) and they were fine when I took them out, I dont see why or how FK's would or could be any worse quality. Their manufacturing looked bang on to me with all the ones I've installed and I havent had a complaint yet about their quality. You make it sound like FK's will explode the moment you lower the car back on the ground. Again the 5 sets I've installed all looked the goods in terms of manufacturing.

Why not buy the Konigsports, they have Koni inserts, and Koni's are rebuild able in Australia. The KW V3's have to be sent back to Germany to get rebuilt. I know which one I'd rather. Why fork out a few hundred extra for KW's when FK does the same job with very similar quality at a better price. Just sayin'

plus FK's come with warranty just like KW do. So where's the problem?

Sorry Kinezo, no idea of your real name, so kind of hard to recall a conversation detail to be honest. When we started the distribution early last year, we couldn't rebuild at that time. But we are moving forward so now we can rebuild locally. But you have to know the problem and depending on that it could be cheaper to repair or replace a strut, sometimes from experience we can advise a cost effective way, save you time and money. In all fairness, getting a correctly matching strut off short production line usually is cheaper than our labour locally to test, pull apart, determine and then fly out parts, rebuild, retest and deliver. Completely depends on the strut, model and serial numbers as to know what spares are needed and what can be done. So there can never be one rule on it.

There are no repair agents, It is also only done via a Dealer.

    Cheers

Will local revalving (as well as rebuilding) of KWs be possible (as per the FK Konigsports and other brands with local servicing)?

Revalving? Why? Then your running the wrong setup completely. There should be enough range of adjustment for each product purpose, matched to the supplied spring. I.e tracking a V1 with an r spec tyre is just not the right combination at all.....should be running a Clubsport to have the right balance with an R spec. The KW's are very different in valving design and not based on a simple shim stack, there is a large range of adjustment possible. So for revalving, we just don't do it, its just not needed in the KW.

    Cheers

Also to know, we offer Australian warranty via the Australian dealers. 2 yr unlimited klm for KW. But this wont extend to grey import at all, we can for sure offer repair for these kits, but its charged. So yes, you can always choose where to buy.

    Excellent. Thanks for this info.

I do know of someone on this forum who said they ordered KWs from Germany and had them revalved to be softer than normal. I was wondering if this sort of adjustment could be done locally but it seems not.

dave, i dont think anyone's trying to get into an argument with you, but i'll be completely honest... ultimately, just by reading these threads, and having spoken to you the first night you saw my car with the coilies on, the message that you're delivering is that you've talked to "experts" who have said "uhmmm ahhhh" and that ultimately, FK's are a cheap coilover that's going to fail on you if you're unfortunate, and when they fail on you as a result of being FK's, you're going to wish you had spent big cash money $$$$$ on KW V1's.

the thing is, though, in both this and the other thread, the way in which you tell people that FK's are sh7t, is so silky smooth... you come in, say abrasive things like "you're going to wish you'd spent more for a better product" and "they're cheap to buy, but you get what you pay for", and then make out like people are arguing with you when we merely are stating that the product is GOOD, and that we've had no issues, and that we stand by our decisions.

then, round two happens - you reply with something like "hey mate i never meant to say anything controversial, this is meant to be a forum where we can voice our opinions and offer helpful advice... im just saying that i've talked to experts who have said that they're cheap sh7t... hope this helps, im not here to disagree with anyone".

we FK owners turn around again and say "prove it". then you make out like we're personally attacking you and that you've had to defend yourself or something.

if one looks at it objectively, THAT is the blueprint for these FK discussions.

"you get what you pay for"... on a car forum, that is THE perfect way of politely, passive aggressively, silky smoothly saying "they're cheap sh7t".

but......................... they ARENT. it's not like they're supersports, raceland, JOM, or spax coilies... they're FK's. they're good.

i stood there and took it like a bitch that first night at tim's place when you were telling me, with all that FK knowledge that no one else seems to have, that FK's (and koni!!!!) are inferior. that's passed, but everytime ANYONE comes on here and says:

    - "they're cheap"
    - "remember, you get what you pay for"
    - "guys, i really dont want to ruffle any feathers, i just spoke to some experts who say FK's are sh7t and that you guys really did make the wrong decision... i hope this helps, "

just like josh, im going to be telling them to cough up proof. statistics, data, research literature, ANYTHING. so far, we've got the FK boys who are all thrilled with our purchase decisions, and then we've got a very select number of KW V1 (not v2's or v3's) owners who have demonstrated their persistent enthusiasm for telling the FK owners that FK's are sh7t, and who have precisely ZERO evidence/ literature/ data to back it up.
