    Ebay spec wheels

    Gday guys,

    im looking at getting some wheels for my recent purchase of a MK5 Jetta.

    Just wondering if anyone has had experience buying some of these OEM knock offs getting round on Ebay n the like?

    A couple that im looking at;

    18 VW Wheels Rims CC Golf Passat EOS GTI Rabbit Jetta | eBay

    18" WHEELS/RIMS & TYRES PACKAGE, VOLKSWAGEN VW GOLF R STYLE/REPLICA, GTI TST TDI | eBay

    even these RS4 spec ones

    18x8 RS4 STYLE SILVER 5X112 WHEEL FIT VW PASSAT B5 B5.5 PHAETON TIGUAN CC RIMS | eBay

    They all seem to be reasonably priced and i dont know how much could possibly be wrong with them, but would love to hear if anyone has gone down that track.

    Cheers

    I had some R32/R36 style wheels (replicas) and they worked fine but they are heavier than the standard wheels in most cases.
    This would be a looks only upgrade.

    no, just no, especially when genuine wheels are so easy to come by, and are better quality and specs

    If your wallet doesn't stretch wide enough to pay exorbitant costs of genuine or brand name wheels there's nothing wrong with reps in my book. I've been driving on copies for the last 6 years without an ounce of trouble. Unless you intend to race your car, look at the reps and use the money saved for something else.
    I used to be indecisive - now I'm just not sure....

    The old adage of "you get what you pay for". As others have said, the cheap knock offs are probably fine as long as you're willing to accept some manufacturing imperfections, casting marks, perhaps uneven weight balancing, heavier alloy, and probably lower quality paint/finishes. There's nothing wrong with buying something cheap as long as you're expecting something cheap
