Damaged 18" Detriot Rim MK6 GTI, what to do?

I managed to take to a cobbled stone wall with my Rim and it left a nice 20cent size gash on the machined part of the rim.

    2 options:

Buy a new rim from ECS Tuning for $530 shipped.

Go to Wheel Solutions in Richmond, Melbourne and have them fix the rim for $275.

Wheel Solutions have said they have repaired the rims before and they know what they are like. He seemed quite confident to be able to repair it. However there is a chance that the finish can come out cloudy (they repaired a Ferrari California Rim and this happened). Turn around time is roughly 4 days due to how these Rims are. Normal rims only take a day to fix.

Is it worth me saving half the cost on buying a new rim and having it repaired with the small chance that it will come out with a cloudy finish?

Give Steves Wheels a call, I am sure they will be cheaper than that quote, they also give you a loaner wheel while they carry the work out so you are still mobile
