Correct bolts for aftermarket wheels? MK6 GTI

    Hi all,
I'm purchasing a set of VMR 18x8 wheels and I've been told the factory VW wheel bolts wont fit.

Can anyone tell me what kind of bolts I need for these wheels?

any information would be greatly appreciated.

who told you that? From what I understand most VMR wheels are designed to use the factory ball seat bolts

Mmm strange, i asked the same question to VMR yesterday and although the rims were 19 x 8.5 they said the VW bolts are fine to use.

I've done quite a lot of research in the last 2 weeks on lug bolts, sizes, fitments etc and this exact VMR question came up on a U.S. forum...and the consensus was ball seat.

Hmmm, I was reading on some US forums that most aftermarket wheels didn't use ball seat. If VMR do then I'm all good I'll double check when I pay for my rims. cheers for the info.

Yes that's absolutely correct...most aftermarket are cone seat but not VMR.

you'd want to look out for the seat (ball or angled) and length they stick out the back of the wheel (want someting that matches your oem wheels). Wheels like vmr id image the bolt length would be ok, the seat is all i would look at, but as the other have said, i believe the vmr are ball seats...
