Ahh okay, I had a look at hot-tuning but i didn't find any application for the tiguan.
Will probably go with H&R coilovers but the car doesn't get here until June so i have a few months to wait for pictures fo the v-maxx and H&R's at various heights.
Thanks for all your help guys.
VW: it aint just a car, its a way of life
There are few things more satisfying in life than finding a solution to a problem and implementing it

Trying to find prices through tirerack.
Also having a look at eibach coilovers.
If all else fails, it will be either just springs or VMaxx coilovers.
Just so you know - Bilstein PSS9s for my car were $3500 before fitting when bought locally. Bought via someone bringing them in from overseas, I got them supplied and fitted for less than $2500. If the guy you're thinking of is getting them locally, he'll be making bugger all margin on the product, and the labour is where he'll make his money - and you can do that with parts brought in from overseas.
As noted though, warranty CAN be an issue in that case - in my case, the fitter dealt with that side as well (they brought them in from overseas for me, and so they took on the responsibility of liability and warranty.
Nothing to see here...
Yeah, i have decided ECS tuning is the way to go to source the H&R Coilovers
There can be handling issues when you go low.
The control arms will likely be at a poor angle, droplinks (if the car has a stock front sway bar) will likely need to be upgraded.
There is quite a bit of info on the Forrester having these issues when dropped, worth a look.
I would be looking at a front sway bar, and possibly rear sway bar upgrade as well, but i want to see how it goes with the coilovers.
There are a few guys on vortex running fully wound down coilovers and they haven't had any problems with the ride quality, in fact they say it is smooth.
