coilover height adjustment - steering alignment

hey all, i'm just a bit curious about how your steering alignment is affected when you raise/lower your suspension.

if you wind down the coils, ( i'm trying to think logically here ), how would it alter your toe? wouldn't it only change the camber of the wheels?

I asked that question of the wheel and tyre place that put in my coils. There line was that if you wound them from alllll the way at the top to allll the way at the bottom it might be worth getting a re-alignment, but the inch or two your likely to move it in any direction should have any noticeable impact.

Now in my case I went from stupid low, back up to reasonable (read too high) and am slowly winding down bit by bit to find the perfect height for the roads I drive on (read as low as possible without grinding on every pebble on the road) and I haven't had any issues.
