Hmm, I had that in my golf, the clicking would only come when turning left but not on full lock, so I didn't think it was a cv. Took it to my mechinic and he pulled out the inner CV joint and it was shagged beyond all belief!! Maybe consider the inner cvs instead of just the outers....
Stage 2+ Intercooler Carbon Intake Downpipe Swaybar DV+ Remsa.
if ya been rippin skids and doing heaps of hard cornering n shiz that can wear out da CV's quicka.
also if they were installed incorrectly/poorly/poorly greased etc, that'll cut down thier lifespan.
Is it a click or knocking sound??
Heavier and larger wheels do shorten the lifespan of all drivetrain components, like ball joints, tie rods, control arm bushes, cv joints, wheel bearings etc. The amount of damage depends on the component itself, the difference between old and new wheel size and how hard you drive it.
Well a larger and heavier wheel aint' going to make the components last longer, put it that way !
1993 MK1 CAB ! Work in Progress........
I had a similiar thing on my wife's car and a bit on mine. Sorted with new ball joints.. did mine as part of the ECS refresh kit as well.
Other solution would be to install another 2 speakers and Subwoofer..
