I saw this video too. Stock new tyres vs stock worn tyres, vs cheap tyres. The cheap tyres performed very poorly. I cant find the video either.

    EDIT found it:

Its a experiment on my part plus being a bit skint at the moment
I agree that they will not be up to the top top standards of the hoon brigade in stage 3 r or gti
But i don't have the need to blast around corners at top speed i use the torque in my car for mainly straight line run
Also i am a professional truck driver of over 30 years and millions of kilometres and have never had a at fault accident in my personal vehicle because i know how to bloody well drive! Especially in the wet which others definitely do not
If they prove to be no good i will admit it
    And let everyone know
If the reverse is true i will also let people know
    Horses for courses guys
I find paying over 1k every 35 to 40tho kilometres is to much looking for something that suits me better
So the armchair warriors who have not used said tyres please back off
I know what i am doing

No skills will help you to shorten the stopping distance in wet my friend, if the rubber on your tyres is inferior quality.
    Just saying.

Ok, I know you’ve said that. But, tell me, do you play sport?

    If yes,
wouldn’t better shoes improve your performance?
Just like better tyres improve your car’s handling and braking.

Your experiment can only withstand and be called comparison or test, if you were comparing price, ok in some way the longevity of the tyres as well, but even that could be impacted by lesser quality because you paid less and in some ways it could cost you more in the end.

It’s wise to always choose the best quality tyres the one can afford.
You bought KF tyres because you didn’t want to pay more for a better ones and I accept that.

Just to make it even more crazy, I was in Costco on the weekend and they are selling Michelin Pilot Sport 4 for $150 ea in 215/45 17s.

Not sure why you would bother with cheap tyres at that price.

I'm about to go back to 225/45r17. It's a better all-round size IMO. Would prefer 235/45r17 but for $400 for 4 Dunlop tyres with 7mm tread and 4 rims you compromise.
