    Question Cheap coilovers!?

Hi, just recently bought an 01 bora 4motion. Wanted to drop the ride, purely for looks; only drive 10-15 minutes to and from work, so handling isn't that big of an issue.. Where can I buy relatively cheap coilovers? Prefferably locally (Melbourne, Victoria)

    Thanks peeps

I'll add to this. Can you drop the ride height without installing coilovers?

(I have no idea how coilovers or the standard suspension system works)

    shorter springs for standard suspension.
cheap coilovers, you need to look for the 'slammed distribution' boys on the fourm.
I have a similar set in my FWD bora, and it'd be on the ground before i run out of adjustment they go that low

Pros/cons of shorter springs vs cheap coilovers? Do you just get your springs lopped or do you have to buy new ones?

coilovers are generally adjustable. Springs are not.
New springs are usually best. Or maybe getting the stock springs reset a little. I myself wouldnt chop them, from memory the last coil on the spring is flat, so its not really a option.
generally with coilovers the more you pay the better the quality.
They are approx $750 from memory...

cut springs can be dodgy (I've done it to a few of my cars without issue but other people have had problems & it is the tight-arse way to do it).

I'd suggest yo find the White james suspension thread either here or MKVGOLF.com (aussie section). it should answer all your questions.
