    thanks for your answers much appreciated . the wheels fit and I have bought them(at the powder coaters now). I will try and borrow a gps but going to take my chances. I should have them fitted by the weekend .If it ever stops raining i can clean the car and will post a photo!

    calibrating your speedo

    There are 3 gears available for the end of your speedo drive. I found this out by accident when my 020 came with a green gear instead of the standard white. I have since found out there is a red as well. The green one is the one you are after for bigger wheels to slow your speedo down if necessary after checking wth GPS.

    Red has 15 teech, white has 16 and green has 17

    mmmmm i have just been driving without checking with a gps.what is involved with changing the gears where do I get them from (main dealer)?

    speedo drive

    I think you need the red one to make your speedo faster, green for little wheels - don't know what I was thinking. They simply clip on, 10 second job. Getting hold of one will be another story

    Today Tonight/A Current Affair (I can't remember which one, they're both chequebook/tabloid journalism at it's worst) have a story on tonight about speedo calibration. If you're lucky, they may actually speak to someone worthwhile and accidently put some useful information in amongst the rest of the garbage the story is made up of...
