airport to airport will mean that you have to find and contract with a customs agency and get them to do all the customs clearances, GST payments etc etc. you will still need an agent if there is no GST/duty payable

this service will probably cost you another $100 minimum. and will present more effort for you, and you will still have to go and pick them up

door to door means that the shipper arranges all this seamlessly for you (you will receive an email asking for CC details for any GST/duty payement) and they are delivered to your door.

I went through tirerack for some suspension shipped to my door did not have to pay any more then original amount. door to door is ten times easier not just for convenience but customs also charge you for holding goods on a daily basis from memory.

Thanks. That clears things up. Door to door it is then.

haha so i'm back on this again, i got some bad news from a few wheel places as far as they had pretty ordinary choices... but the interesting thing is the chap at bob jane hornsby reckons i should go for the Ronal r41 in black, he really liked it and said they would fit them once they landed with an appropriate tyre. it's looking at costing $980aud for a set of 4 and $480 courier to australia from performance alloys. then about $280 per tyre for a set of kumho ke27
we had a long look at available tyres for both 17" and 18" and i'm probably leaning towards 17" for a comfier ride and durability of the wheels.

but again i'm torn between the ronal and the KMC rockstar 775. both in black and both very much what i was looking for.... it's such a hard decision.

also if anyone is interested the CSA raker, G-max Carus are not bad options (but dont come in black only hyper black)

So it's been a little longer than i thought as wheels were not in stock in uk so they had to order them in from Germany which took longer than usual apparently.
But at 7am this morning DHL showed up with my 4 parcels. A quick call to Bob Jane Hornsby to order the rubber
    - maxxis ma p1 for $210 per corner and $55 for alignment and they got it in this afternoon. So we went from this

    To this

    $1490 delivered
    $895 tyres
    $2385 all up
