where are you based? if you are in sydney there is an aluminium repair shop in brookvale on old pittwater road (at the back of the mall)that can repair cracks and roll out buckles in wheels. I had two wheels re-rolled and they charged me $180.
Hi guys,
Just had one of my tyres repaired (a screw deep in tread) and the Beaurepaires guys pulled me into their workshop to show me my wheel on the balance machine. Showed a smallish buckle on the inner side of the wheel. He said it was very common with VW alloys as they're made from a fairly soft alloy. It only takes a pot hole to do the damage at speed. Anybody else experienced this? I called www.advancedalloys.com.au and they said they need to take the wheel off and assess if it can be fixed to safe levels and roughly quoted $100 to $200 per wheel! I can slightly feel it when I drive but only very slight on really smooth roads.
Any suggestions on fixes or workshops that can fix?
Check out the website (www.advancedalloys.com.au) the images of the alloy wheel they repaired from smashed to new. Quite impressive.
Cheers

I had a 14inch Pirelli wheel done in Adelaide, it cost $165, fantastic job.
If the dent is slight, fit the wheel on the back of the car and forget it.... That's the cheapest option.

strange that vw alloys are soft; i hit a bump very very very hard with my audi tt wheels (this is riding on very firm coilovers too) and i thought that i would have killed them for sure... but i got out and checked them over and they were all fine i was quite surprised
