Admittedly genuine RS and LM polish up pretty well, but the base price of an 18" set ready to mount up will not be $1k, which is the OPs indicated budget, so stop stomping his nuts.

There was a set of bbs rs down the road from me in perfect mk5 offsets and widths, good condition (no polishing or painting needed) all caps etc for $400, they even had tyres (wrong size though).
A redrill for $140, and a set of hub rings for $25.
Sooo correct me if I'm wrong but that's $565 for a genuine set ready for tyres and a mk5? This happens a bit.

You are correct however about the 18s, super rs in 18s can pop up cheap, but normal rs in 18 and most likely you will be bidding against buyers from world wide due to there rarity. But bbs rs reps in 18s look dodgy as, clearly the design was not meant to be stretched or scaled up like that.

Guys, I'm looking more for the CH style and want preferably a matt/satin black finish - at the moment I've got my eye on the replica's from Advance - here are the links

    18 x 8 with 45ET - eBay Australia: Buy new & used fashion, electronics & home d

    19 x 8 with 45ET - eBay Australia: Buy new & used fashion, electronics & home d

Both of them are very cheap and ready to bolt on - if you guys think that I can get a better deal elsewhere then please let me know.
I'm happy to pay extra for genuine but not at more than double the cost of these.

    That is cheap.
I would give them a call (they ask you to do that anyway to check on stock) - and make sure the centrebore is 57.1 which is what you'll need for your MKV. If not, ask if they can supply some hub centering rings so you can fit them up snug.

Yes well I thought so too yet there are a few members here perplexed as to why I would want them claiming I can get genuine ones for less. Still waiting to hear how and where.....
