    Best Budget Coilovers

    Hi,

I drive a 2010 6r Polo 77tsi, since upgrading my wheels the ride height of my polo looks shocking and also I find the ride in general to be very bouncing with a fair bit of body roll.

I've been considering various upgrades to the suspension, and do not want to spend over $1000 including install realistically. I want to keep the cost as low as possible without purchasing an inferior product.

I considered upgrading my springs to a H&R set but then upgrading the shocks and dampers would be equivalent to a set of coilovers anyway.

So the hunt for cheap coilovers has begun.

The first big question is it worth paying the extra money for damper adjustment or should i just stick to height adjustment with and a percentage increase on stock dampering (usually around 30%)?

I have been on fair amount of UK websites and got the best prices advertised, so all my prices at this point are in British pounds and include VAT. Once I've narrowed my selection and accumulated some funds I will request some more detailed quotes of VAT free pricing and shipping.

As far as decent budget coilovers go, most of the attention I've seen has been on FK and AP.
    - FK because they use koni inserts in there dampers and shocks
    - AP because they are a subsidiary of KW

My options with straight height adjustable coilovers are:
    - FK Highsport 372GBP
    - AP Coilovers 450GBP
    - FK Silverline 456GBP (From what i can gather are the same as the highsport just in stainless steel)
    - Weitec Hicon GT 550GBP (Weitec also being a subsidiary of KW but making mid range products)

My options with height and damper adjustable coilovers are:
    - FK Konigsport 660GBP
    - AP X Coilovers 698GBP
    - FK Silverline X 744GBP (Which are the Konigsport in stainless steel)

I've read through whats seems like 100s of reviews of both brands, and there seem to be three main opinions first two is swearing by either AP or FK and stating its the best value for money. The other opinion is that they are both inferior products and I should simply spend the extra money.

To be clear I dont want to slam my car at all only lower a bit, I will not be using my car on the track at any point therefore I dont want it to be exteremly stiff although i want it stiffer then my current rolly polly suspension.

So I'd just like to know if any of you have used any of these products previously, know what options are really worth my money, and what your pick would be?

    Thanks in Advance

    P.S
If I am wrong with any details please feel free to correct me and sorry about the novel

I have AP X, got them through DPM performance, fantastic for the price, although u must remove dust caps on the front struts as there is a design fault and they fall down and get in the way with the spring with larger compressions.
    I would recommend them
Ride is not hard at all.
    MY11 Polo Trendline, Candy white
RCD510, R badge, AP X coilovers, 17" Ariettas in gloss black, Rear muffler delete, GTI pedal covers, gloss back emblems
soon to come, Front lip & Fat bottom steering wheel
