Anyone got any suggestions? Aside from the oem Conti sports contact 3 it has now. I just want a quieter ride. The Conti seems to tram track heaps and also noisy too

What dub runs that size?
best price? best mileage? best grip?
that size is not a common one. the 2nd generation accord euro luxury cars use that size with michelin primacy hp (made in france). when i sold my accord euro with 42500km on the clock, 2 tyres still had 6mm of thread depth, the other 2 had 4mm. new is around 8mm. but the retail is $330+ each.
kumho ku31 (made in korea, very popular, best bang for your buck) with that size can be had for a lot cheaper than the michelin from tempe tyres.
otherwise, have a look at the goodyear asy 2 (consistently win 1st place in various tests and reviews). they do come in that size.

Do you have a Passat? Did you mean to type 235/40 R18 95W XL?
Owing to their market positioning and general nature of low profile tyres, it's not easy to find one that offers a quiet ride, especially in a 40-series profile or below. Also keep in mind that some surfaces will always be noisy, irrespective of the tyre that's fitted on the car (even accounting for low-profile tyres' tendency to magnify surface imperfections).
Having said that, some people have found the Michelin Pilot Sport 3 and the new Hankook Ventus S1 evo2 to be less noisier than other tyres within the same category of performance as the Continental SportContact series.
Other possible candidates include: Firestone TZ700, Kumho Ecsta LX (KU27), Pirelli Cinturato P1 or Toyo Teo Plus. These tyres aren't in the same performance category, but are more likely to be less noisier.
The other tyre that would've been worth trying was the Yokohama Advan dB decibel (V551), but unfortunately, it doesn't offer a load index of 95 in a 235/40 R18 fitment.
