Thread: BBS RA Offset Issue

  1. #11

    ET25 is a BMW offset
    VW's were ET38

Also do you have rim protect on the Dunlops? your contis do and that way they look wrong IMO
Get two more Dunlops and that should keep you happy but as Jarred said, you should have gone for 50 profiles no 55's

Great rims tho, I love RA's

Thanks Velly! Yeah, they came with BBS centres but had cheap/nasty AC Snitzer stickers on them, so BMW makes sense. The Dunlops sit much better you're right, and they seem less bulbous. I reckon 2 more Dunlops at 185 50 (or 45) might just fit better. Or perhaps 2x Nangkangs that Dom mentioned. I've already spent a sh*tload on these, so understandably I really dont want to loose any more cash on 'em!

Dom, I'll give you a ring later today.

    Thanks again everyone!

if yo are going to just replace the ones on the front then i would get the same as your rears. if you go for a smaller profile it will not look right as they will be different. (unless you are going to change all 4)

Wheels are on, looking good and no worries. Thanks for all the help lads, in particular Velly and Dom, remind me I owe you two a beer.

It sits on 195 50 15s (virtually the same rolling diameter as my old 14s). Pics to come when the rain abates.

    Thanks again.

What car are the wheels off? I've never heard of a OEM 7" wide BBS wheel at that offset before.

As Velly said, they're a BMW offset. I bought them from a guy on Firesport, and I never thought to ask him what car they came from.

    looks great, perfect OEM+ upgrade.

I think a 1-1.5" drop would set it off perfectly.

Cheers Jarred. I'm not sure I'll do anything more, but I agree, a slight drop would look awesome. Would I be right in worrying about stuff like rubbing etc.

You may have some issues with light rubbing, on full lock or some really big bumps etc, but I don't think a 1" drop would cause too much issue for 95+% of daily driving.
