The guys at advance are a great bunch. Small shop but enough eye candy to make you scratch your head with confusion with what you want. So far I've purchased 2 sets of wheels and tyres from them within 10 months or so. Will keep going back there. Service is great too and wheels and tyres at a great price particularly if your a regular. I'm sure there's other out there but they're the mob I'll be going to for a while.

I bet the reps weigh more, are made of a lesser material compared to the orginal. Finish is probably another thing.
Resale value you also be much higher on the real deal.
Plus, wouldnt you much rather say i have genuine CHs :p ...maybe its just me
i bought reps for a3, they are a bit heavy tho but finish and quality is pretty good
I would have been nice to buy some genuine but it was a bit hard to find 19" 5 x 100 ch wheels
and the extra $1000 was a fair whack of money for a uni student
I rekon as long as the buyer knows what they're getting and understands that reps are reps and don't go telling peeps that they're genuine and if that's all they can afford but are happy with them then that's what matters. True that originals are going to be lighter and probably made with better materials or a superior alloy mix or manufacturing methods for strengthening whilst minimising weight though especially when referring to brands like BBS, enkei, etc etc etc.
the genuine article in that size still weighs upwards of 11kgs, it's not exactly a light wheel compared to what else is out there - is a couple more kg's per corner really going to hurt a car whose primary focus is NOT speed? (if speed was the ultimate goal then he'd already have team dynamics or enkei rpf1 in SEVENTEEN inch).
also, arent both the genuine article as well as reps, 1 piece low pressure cast? how much is the ''difference in materials used" REALLY going to make in the real world, on a daily driven in 60km/h zone car? if you've read this thread, or if you look close enough to see that the etching on the wheel says just "motorsport" instead of "bbs motorsport", then sure the purists might say "nah that's not cool", but if you take a step back and just look at a mk5/ mk6 with some well turned out reps, what's the difference ACTUALLY going to be?
wheel strength/ integrity on an ADR approved replica is not going to be a concern - its not like the car's ever going to have to deal with the kind of stresses that would be generated on say a clio or a megane...
DOVW 2010 - fab_R had bbs ch reps on his car, with some nice lowering, and the car looked great, in all honesty.

As long as the wheels you're buying have the JWL or american or german approvals etc, then you should be fine if you're concerned with integrity.
and to be fair to the OP, the video demonstrates the difference in strength between a weds AMF ''rotation formed production process" (supposedly as good as forged, as a production technique) and what is likely either a gravity or low pressure cast ''imitation".
this video would NOT necessarily apply to the bbs ch case as the ch's arent AMF produced nor are they forged- they're low pressure cast.
im guessing if you put a street legal, approved bbs ch replica and a genuine ch to the test in this video, the results would probably be the same, if not very very very similar (i.e. the bbs ch's hairline fractures would be a couple mm shorter than the rep's).
just outlining the facts just incase the OP got freaked out by the "ultra high strength rim, produced using new production methods that employ the best aspects of both casting and forging, to produce a wheel thats allegedly as strong as mega $$$ forged wheels" genuine wheel vs "cheap, gravity/ low pressure cast" replica test...
You're right. So why would you add to this topic trying convince others that reps are **** and you're wealthy enough to afford the real thing?

Lesser material....who really asks about chemical composition of alloy used in the wheels on their car?
Resale...hahaha..used is used. No second wheel is worth more than a hundred bucks to me...but thats my opinion and i'm happy to accept others may be different.
I'd like to say I could afford genuine...but would much rather spend the extra on something else as would others on here. Hence my original post.
