    Balancing bent rims

hey fellas, three of my rims are slightly bent - you cannot spot it unless you know that they are. i get a lot of vibration when traveling over 85kph. just wanted to know if it is possible to balance bent rims, as my funds don't stretch on a professional reroll and don't want to fork out $80 on balancing just to experiment. any input is welcome

    cheers

Depends on the severity of the buckles. I had a similar problem with my BBS RSII - one of them was buckled on the inside, but it was very slight and wasn't noticeable at all until it was spun on the balancing machine (visually spotted). The tyre guy balanced it for me anyway and I drove to Melbourne and back without any vibration problems (was going 100+ the whole time).

I would suggest a re-roll - if it's only slight buckles, it should cost no more than $250 for the three wheels. It's a good investment now than to subject all your running gear to these vibrations.

Balancing will allow the wheel to stop in any position on the machine. That is a very different thing to removing vibrations set up because the wheel/tyres are out of round. It depends how bad it really is as to whether there will be an improvement. I'd certainly stick the worst ones on the back of the car.
