My girl has a VW Golf 105TDi stationwagon with DSG, and suddenly a really loud squeak has started to appear of the right back wheel. This sound is only appearing in sharp turns. The sound is highest when turning to the left, but you can hear it as well when turning right.
I took of the wheel today, and tried to untight the break protector (the metal disc) as I thought this could be the metal squeaking sound, but that didn't change anything.
Do you know what this could be, and if it's easy to self repair?

It does sound like the brake backing plate is making contact with the disk somewhere.
I have found this on the rear of my Octavia several times. It is a weird problem because it goes away by itself sometimes - but basically if its ever really bad I just bend the backing plate away a bit by pushing on it with a big screwdriver
