    audi 80/passat suspension compatability

    hi guys.

just going to through this one out there, hopefully someone will be able to help.

You know how mk 2 and mk 3 suspension is the same/similar/interchangeable? ie A2 & A3 chassis compatability.

would this also hold true for the B2 & B3 chassis'? Ie audi 80's and passats? from 81 - 94 [I think 94 was the end of B3?]

The reason I ask is because the old audi's shockers are starting to feel tired, So I would like to know what my options are with mixing and matching various VAG parts!

    TIA

I have an 80 as well, and I would think the MK1 would be very similar or is that wrong ?

There was a 100 that I spotted but not sure about the suspension in comparison !

nah not very similar to a mk 1 suspension wise. plenty of other stuff, just not suspension.

uses a different style steering rack for starters, which means different front struts. Also has a torsion bar rear end I believe.

I looked in the manual last nightthe rear end is panhard bar, not torsion bar like I said in the post before.

Sure some parts look like mk 1, but alot of stuff from the VAG family looks similar!
