anyone want to bring in 2 tyres from tirerack?

Hi All,

I'm looking at buying 2 tyres for my MK 6 Golf GTI, looking at the shipping i was wondering if anyne else wanted 2 tyres and we could split shipping? at these provces i could get 4 tyres but then would have 2 sitting around for ages so not the best idea i think,

I'm in inner Melbouren and looking to buy in the next month or so,

You need to keep the total purchase under $1K to avoid duty etc. How much are the tyres you are looking at? Did you get a shipping quote for 2 and 4 tyres?

I am likely putting in an order in the next month or so where the 4 tyres before shipping will be just over $1.1K (rears $600.00 and fronts $500.00). May pay me to split the order/combine with your order or other and avoid duty.

i think the ones i wantwed were about 400 in total with shipping being $220, hence i ciould get 4 in at around 8-900 but only need 2 etc

i'll check again and let you know if its going to be cheaper etc

Tirerack quote in $US but customs calculate on $AU.

My understanding is that if the purchase price is under $1K, the shipping is not counted. Once you hit $1K shipping everythiing counts and customs will likely bleed your back pocket.

My quote was US$330.00 shipping for 4 tyres - 245/35/19 x2 and 275/30/19 x 2.
