if you get these wheels, you MUST slam your car.... otherwise = FAIL
VW: it aint just a car, its a way of life
There are few things more satisfying in life than finding a solution to a problem and implementing it

Just got a quote for Tire Rack...
A set of 19' BBS CH Blacks with Goodyear F1 Assy for around the US$3300 (AU$3600) including shipping. Plus all the usual tax/GST/customs.. I know this is dodgy a question, but is there anyway to reduce or avoid taxes/GST?
Alternatively I've rung up JAX for a quote, and they've quoted me $5200 for the same package.
I love the wheels, and have been heavily considering the thought of going ahead with it, but for around a $1000 for each corner... thats a shtload of cash... and I'm not sure if its worth it....
Thoughts?
this advice didnt come from me and you didnt hear it here!!
youre looking at $900 per corner shipped, so you are just under the customs theshold.
split the consignment into 4 individual wheels and tyres and get them sent over a few weeks AND to different names and addresses. (this is because customs have sophisticated tracking systems and realise when people do split consignments)
Of course, you will pay more for shipping overall, so you will need to ask them the cost to do that, then work out how much you might save.
dont forget, as of 1st January, import duty drops from 10% to 5% so that will save you another $200 if you do choose to ship all together
2007 Audi RS4 with: APR ECU Upgrade; JHM Quick Shifter; Milltek Catback and Downpipes; KW V3 Coilovers; Argon Creative Carbon Fibre Splitters
I pussed out on a set of 15x7" SSR MK3's for $1900. I don't think I'll ever muster up the courage to fork out anything close to $3500 for a set of wheels!
Just oooking on vortex Anthony, could be worth looking into:

Would love these on my Polo, wish they made them in 17s.
Woops, I must of forgotten about this post! hahah
Thanks guys for the replies!
Schoona, thanks for the links! The first link looks tempting, but ive got my mind set on the CH Blacks with the polished lip to match in with the chrome fittings on the Jetta.
Im still hungover on whether i should get these or not... Im starting to hate my logic of thinking... "Need vs. Want". The one thing thats stopping me is my set of Adrenalins that i bought back in August and I just dont want these to go to waste. I've found a local place that could give me a good deal on a set, but still not 100% if they are worth the shiny penny.
How do BBS's hold in value?
Thanks!
Try answering these questions -
What else could you do with that amount of money ? Then seriously consider those alternatives.
IMO you shouldn't be buying something like this thinking about resale value (unless you just need to shore up the purchase decision with some extra justifications).
From a wealth creation viewpoint buying new cars is a terrible investment, and modding cars is even worse. You need to look at a totally different way - you are buying enjoyment, not something for $$$ return on investment.
Will you get $4-5,000 of enjoyment from these ? If the answer is definitely yes, then continue.
How will you react if you go over a nasty pothole and one of these fine wheels is trashed beyond repair ? If you will be able to cope with too much emotional trauma, then buy and ENJOY them with a clear conscience
If you are honest with yourself you will know what is best for you to do.
