    5x114.3 for vr6

Would I need to fill and redrill 5x114.3 bbs rs wheels to fit a mk3 vr6? Or just redrill? Around how much would it cost?

    Thankyou!

    depends on the wheels buddy.

if they're flat backed an have a reasonable size centre bore, they can probs be redrilled. if they're scalloped you'll have to get filled and drilled which is alot more expensive for 5 holes, compared to a simple redrill

Ah, would you happen to know if 16" BBS RS wheels with 5x114.3 could be just redrilled to 5x100? Or if anyone with BBS RS's could chime in on whether the centre bore is big enough for this.

Also, could someone just give me a rough price range on fill and redrill please.

    Thanks so far

no, you need to provide us with more info about your wheels, then we can tell you if it'll work.

have a search, there's been plenty of threads on redrilling, prices have been posted before.

that center bore hole could be a problem when redrillling the wheels, the 5x100 holes may cut into the thread of the centercap.

Oh, I think I know what you mean, 5x100 holes are closer in to the centre than 114.3 so the holes may, uh, "overlap" into the centre bore? Sorry, I don't understand what you mean by it cutting into the thread of the centre cap, do the caps have certain patterns as well? Sorry, really new to all these stud patterns and fitment. Would this mean that all mk3's with rs's are running adapters?

Thanks for the replies so far (Y)

hey mate, just because im around..... (but i am FFAARR from an expert on this- WABIT is the acknowledged wheel hoare on VWA, haha).

yes.... 5x100 would be closer to the center bore.... caps/ bores dont necessarily have patterns, so much as sizes.

for many recent VW cars, the center bore would be 57.1mm, and that would ideally be the size of each hole you see at the center of each wheel in your pic above.

as far as i know, many mk3's with bbs rs's do not run adaptors, nor have they been re drilled.... the guys simply have the patience and resources/ hook ups to source the right parts, to build their (non-daily) wheels themselves...

but dont be surprised if i get corrected- each section of these cars (be it mechanical, suspension geometry, wheels/tyres, electronic remapping, in car entertainment, detailing etc) has their own group of enthusiasts within VWA.... there's lots of knowledge on here.
