Those wheels, were they off an FC RX7? My mate had a very similar set (size and colour), and I was thinking about doing it when he was selling them. These would have a ~66mm centrebore as well (which is redrillable). What's the RS model number on these babies? You can find out by reading in between the lug holes.

Dom's right, redrilling to 5x100 will more than likely drill into the centrecap thread. In your pictures, notice the big middle hole with the threads where the centre collars and the big hex caps screw onto? A proper 5x100 redrill may drill through it.

But then again, these 16's seem to have the smaller centres - these use a different centre collar and smaller diameter threaded hex cap (~56mm versus ~70mm for the larger centres). So you might get away with a 5x100 redrill.

It's best to take it out to a wheel specialist to have a look-see and find out what your options are; at the same time you'll get a quote for redrilling. If at the end it comes to having to use adapters, I'd suggest giving these wheels up as they're not the best specs to run adapters with.

I redrilled a set of onepiece bbs this week.
They were 5x114 and had a flat back, so there was room for the extra set of 5 holes.

Aah, I see now. Thanks Rayray and Golf Loon, that really cleared it up for me.

And I found out that one pair has 60mm and the other has 70mm centre bore and they aren't flat backed. So that means they won't be redrillable because the new holes would go into the thread, yes?

And with adapters, is it true that they are legal if they are bolted to the hub?

Thanks so much for the replies so far.

Oh and I don't know what they are off atm, rayray. The centre bore might answer your question though.

As was said before, they aren't the friendliest of sizes for adapters. 7s aren't wide, but ET33 leaves a 15mm, 20mm and 25mm adapter (H&R ones from ECS for example). You can get adaptec speedware to make them to your spec aso (price is around the %500 AUD mark for all hardware I think).

I have ET23 wheels, and have 20mm adapters on them (final ET3). And a 7" wide wheel. You will need 165 tyre's if you have any amount of low.

I think if you want RS's, get the smallest adapters you can (15mm all round, Final ET of 1 and then play around with lip sizes to bring the lip out flush/poke. (I'm not familiar with building RS's though)...
