Well still waiting for a quote so wont be splitting the shipping just yet (another member gave me an idea on prices - it still costs less to ship two obviously but it's still more than half the cost).
The other options is wait for Goodyear to have their buy 3 and get 1 free again (but would still be more expensive ~$1600).

The RE-050As get a really good writeup on another forum I frequent. It depends how much "performance" you're really after - Kumho KU31s are an absolute steal at less than $200 a corner in sensible sizes, Bridgestone RE-001s are quite affrodable as well (not as good as the RE-050As, but are quieter and will last longer).
The latest Pirelli tyres are apparently getting back to being seriously competitive again apaprently, which is also good to hear.
Nothing to see here...
