Yes, but everything will suffer - both dynamically and aesthetically

Ideally you need a 195/40/17 tyre, but they're quite expensive due to being rare

Continental make the size as we have them on our Clio, but they were about $400 a corner?!

P.S. They're quite cheap at tirerack.com but import duty isn't your friend

i want to go all bling.. im looking at spending about $1500. i will still keep my mk2 steelies for the performance side of things.. the main thing is, will it rub badly? car is lowered a little not to sure on wat shockies they are, as i bought the car with them. ill head down to the wheel and tire shop tomorrow and have a chat with those guys.. trial fit maybe.

    That's nuts!

If you maintain the stock rolling diameter, then it shouldn't rub at all (assuming that your stock wheel + lowered suspension set-up doesn't).

    Muck around with this:

205/40/17 which fit a 17x7" rim fit perfect on a mk1 just have to roll your guards a bit, and tyres start from $120 a corner
