Smile 15s to 18s on the Little Beastie

Just kicking around an idea that has been floating in my head for a while. Upgrading the current 14*6s to 15*6, 16*6, 17*6 and 18*6, with my current suspension which is firm but not to taught, and has a little bit of body roll. Any comments?

Your car didn't have a rear sway bar correct? It just had like a torision beam between the tow rear suspension arms. Unless your willing to spend big bucks and rengineer the car, i'd just put up with it.

That massive body roll in the B1 passat is part of the fun realy, feels like your going to die but heck is it fun!

You could put some 16 x 6.5 inch wheels with 205/45 tires for some nice grip I guess, and just sell them when you get rid of the car...

I wish. The 14*6s scrape the wheel arch going up the driveway to my unit.

I have to check that. But I don't feel that the body roll is that great.

15*6s with 195/50*15 tyres. Bob Jane had some for $699. I am not sure how good the Bob jane performance tyres are? I think they are called Xenons, I will have to check.

700 for 15" rims is a bit of a rip tbh... what stud pattern is on your passat?

they can't be any worse than bob jane all rounders, or out-of-rounders as some of us call them.....

    Thumbs up

I had them on a previous car and they were shockers, in both the wet and the dry. I am Falken tyres fan. I have got some 329s on the front and the handle and wear well. I have some Barim Bravious on the rear and they are hardly wearing at all, not giving me the excuse to upgrade them. Anyway I am a long way off getting bigger rims and tyres. I want to do some sporty mechanical work done first, after I trace another leak in the cooling system.
