I bought one of these since I like the idea of a completely hidden install. (I have the black one, not the cream)

...but as it turns out the rake of the windscreen (and the trim bits) in the Cabriolet are different and short of taking to the stock part and this with a Dremel to try and create something that works it seems I'm out of luck.

I paid $100 a week ago, I'm looking to get $80 back.

This looks like a nifty idea!!!
I had a look and it appears the versions you needed were VW-01 or VW-02 (with rain sensor).

I think you're right, something I didn't catch.

So I originally found and searched for cameras for the Golf:
CAR Dash Camera Hidden Wifi HD 1080P 12V ACC FOR VW Tiguan Golf Bora Polo Jetta | eBay

And on that page it says if you have the rain sensor you need the VW-02 and it provides a link, which lands on the page I posted above and which I bought.

Reading all the various items was doing my head in since they seem to talk about Golf, Bora, Passat, Tiguan somewhat interchangeably... Given the pictures looked about right and that many VW/Audi/SEAT/Skoda parts are the same I ordered a black one...

In any case, I've just requested a return/swap for the correct model so we will see what they say.
