very nice clean example of an MK2....respect to you!

one thing though, get some tyre shine on there ASAP!!....it hurts my eyes seeing a shiny clean car like that with dirty tyres (except the first pic).

Hi mate, looks like a nice Mk2, i spy a tilting sunroof and smoothed front bumper. Paint looks mint too.

Who did you get the quote of 1K shipping from ? Was that for a Roll on Roll off ferry ? (aka RoRo).

I say to alot of people wanting to know more to have a look at www.karmanshipping.co.uk - their website explains what the steps are in shipping a car here, you can download your import approval from there etc and gives an outline on what you're likely to pay. I paid 1500 pounds in 2005 to get my Corrado here with them, it went in a sole use 20ft container, i was allowed to fill the car up with personal effects which RoRo doesn't allow. Only took 4 weeks to arrive.

I would put away 2500 pounds to see you pick it up and be registered on the road, could be a little less but shouldn't be more.

Where in Australia are moving to ? If its Sydney i can point you in the direction of the garage that made my car compliant.

Keep us posted and give us a shout if you think i can help !

Its Sydney I'm heading to, will be doing a dry run next year to sort out everything else to do with the trip but will also be trying to sort out as much as I can fir the car, I't would be great to hook up,

Well spotted by the way, its got a scirroco sun roof, BBS RM's rebuilt by me (I sell the parts in the uk to speck) Porsche scripted door handles, Steve Denton from edition38 (Stylehaus) sorted out the body work, body kit removed, everything smoothed, indicators relocated to the grill (orig location filed and smoothed), c pillar crease removed, happich pop out rear glass installed (will be electric opening and remote closing with alarm), wing arial removed and filled, third wipper hole removed, wind indicators removed, all glass tinted 15% and for the inside, full black leather, A,B,C pillars, roof, door panels, period momo steering wheel, Vortex centre consol with guages covered in leather, and other orig porsche details........the list goes on and its taken 4 years to get to this stage, 20v s3 engine was on the books but on hold until I know more about the trip,

Before I leave this side of the world I have more than a few shows to hit with it as a final bow, I did smile when I skipped through this forum and found loads of my mates cars on here and loads of cars I've supplied parts for posted by others, it looks as if it might cause some ripples out there which should be fun. I'll keep in touch as I have loads of contacts( some of which I work for at the shows) here and if you need anything for the corrado I could help when it comes time for me to ship over

Cool, don't suppose you know Jeremy from Justmatz then do you ? I've had RS parts off him before, top bloke he is.

So have you got your residency sorted then, or is that what you're doing whem you come over next year ?

So its Sydney you're headed to, good choice i reckon, i used to live there, was there in Manly on and off for 7 years, i'm in Melbourne now and it just doesn't compare IMO. When it comes nearer to the time let me know, it will be painless to get your car through, i have an awesome contact in Sydney who will sort this for you. He got mine on the road in about 10 days after it arrived.

Does sound like an amazing car, filled aeriel hole eh, must be a late 8v then ?

I work for him and Dave at just matz at the shows selling car custom car mats and other bits and peices, he lives 15mins from me, we are currently trying to sort out a set of old school 1off set of compomotive 16"splits like the old ferrari f40 wheels for the golf to be different, RM's and RS's common as chips here and always hard to stand out without spending megga monies, I know of a set on a current winning show car which cost £2.5k to put together. Most of the show sets in the uk come from them

Think I read on here something about you refurbing a set of plits. If it was you I recomend stainless steel dishes, I've had my set on the car for 2 years and all I ever do is wipe and go, I love my car and spend a fortune playing with it but I want to drive it not wash it and my old set chrome RS's were a pain in the butt to keep clean hence the current set are black (And also covered in poorboys wheel protector)
