Got this A1 at a very good price
My wife use to own a A1 sport that She loved to bits but I sold it on her. Twin charge DSG was just too much to worry about.
she wanted another A1 but iv never seen a S line in Manuel but came across this TDI model with a 5 speed.
I find this very unique being I
That iv never seen a fully loaded S line with a 5 speed.
It’s a awesome car and I got it at a very cheep price with only 70,000kms
The car is in a pretty bad shape it’s iron contamination all over the paint and is taking for ever to strip off.
Coolant was full of rust but reversed flush until there was no debris.
Other then all the outstanding maintenance, the car is perfect. No dints or scratches.
Starting to get everything ready for a full service.

Nice one - looking at the other photo you posted in the "most recent shot of your ride" thread I assumed it was a petrol model because you very rarely see a TDI in the A1 and with the big wheels and sport kit it made me think it must be a petrol model. So yes i dare say that's a pretty unique car here in Australia.
Re the coolant being full of rust, i wonder if the infamous VAG coolant consumption issue affected this car and the owner/mechanic was just topping it up with tap water and reducing the coolant concentration over the years?
Came up really nice after a good decontamination and polish. Wife happy?
Apparently these little 1.6 TDI engine get huge gains with a stage 1 tune (+45kw and +90nm). That would make for a little rocket.

I haven’t done t polish yet. The paint is covered with iron contamination.
The coolant on the other hand is very strange. The owner just has it go to the mechanics and had a service including coolant flush. It’s either they didn’t do it or they filled it up with just tap water.
I was a bit hesitant on Th e whole TDI but after driving from Nsw to sa in it, it’s a perfect cruzzer. 4.2/100 on the whole trip is amazing.
It needs a serious detail but other then that the car is completely straight.

From this
To this
Gave the little thing a very good make over
Oil and filter change
Brake and clutch fluid flush
And a deep clean in front wheel arches, engine and plenum.
And finally a foam wash

Next is the under body and rear arches along with new pads and rotors.
But still have the RS5 to get back on the road
Another halt on beast because for some reason they put the wrong pads in the box
So I’m stuck with a new rotor on one side and old pads

The little A1 looks awesome .... will be even better once you are all done with it!
How much did you end up paying, sounds like it was a good buy.

Nicely done on the detailing and servicing - very thorough. Funnily enough it reminds me of the process I went through several years back when I purchased a grotty Mk6 GTI. My other German fling: Mk6 GTI
Trying to chase up this parking assist fault now.
Driving me crazy because I can’t find the J446 control unit for the parking system.
Found the rear buzzer
Service Manuel states that it’s behind the glove box
Only thing that is there is the headlight control unit.
Anyone have a clue where the hell it is?
